Download from your Mac over the web with FarFinder
FarFinder: Download from your Mac over the web
Flying Mac today unveiled FarFinder, a remote file access for the Mac that allows users to browse and retrieve their files from their Mac using a standard web browser. In addition to working on a desktop or laptop computer, FarFinder can also be used through Safari on the iPhone and iPod touch. Since files can’t really be downloaded to the iPhone, FarFinder will email the file to a desired address. FarFinder is currently available at a special price of $20.
The company claims FarFinder is simple to configure, and is “install-and-forget”. The software can also automatically configure routers so that users do not have to learn what ports they need to change.

Send emails to a future date with Time Machiner
New web service Time Machiner enables you to send emails to any recipient on any future date.
You can use the service to remind yourself of upcoming events or appointments, or you can set up happy birthday emails to friends, family members, and co-workers, in one glorious chunk of time.
And, if you time it right, you can even send emails from beyond the grave. Cue Vincent Price’s ghoulish laughter.
While we think this service has its uses, some more beneficial than others, it seems to be more of a novelty at this point. Some basic features are missing: e.g., you can’t email a group of people, formatting of any kind (except for line breaks) is disallowed, you can’t add attachments, etc…
Besides, for events such as birthdays, wouldn’t it be easier to set reminders in a calendar application? If you’re averse to calendar apps, they even have calendars that are made out of real paper and hang on walls.
The most beneficial use of Time Machiner is the ability to send present advice to your future self. Maybe you’ve had an epiphany, and would like to make sure you don’t forget it. That’s where Time Machiner can really shine.
So what would your epiphany be, dear reader?

MacHeist bundle
MacHeist bundle is back, shipping retail box soon
If you head over to the MacHeist website today, you’ll find that same video and the caption “The MacHeist Retail Bundle coming soon.” The video depicts some sort of bank robbery in process, with the words “a notorious software bundle,” “better grab it,” and “before it’s to late” flashing across the screen as the heist progresses. Eventually, we find out that inside of the vault being broken into there is a single copy of what appears to be the MacHeist retail box.
It turns out that the official list of software for the bundle is as follows: iClip, CoverSutra, Awaken 4.0, Cha-Ching, Wallet, Xslimmer, DEVONthing Personal, Overflow, WriteRoom, Enigmo, Bugdom 2, and Nanosaur 2. The package will be available online as a download for $49.95 tonight, and will remain on sale online for the next month. After the first month, purchasers will be able to buy an actual, boxed bundle says one MacHeist source. As of right now, the LLC is waiting to find out if the bundle will be carried in Apple retail stores.
